Collective Action, In Action

No one does this kind of work alone.

It may seem cliche to say ‘everyone has a role to play…’ but in the pursuit of community wellbeing, it couldn’t be more true. We take a co-design, co-creation approach to our work.

Building healthy and thriving communities isn’t any one group’s responsibility. The government alone can’t make it happen, nor can one social agency, neighbourhood group or engaged citizen.

But when we connect our work, we can move mountains.

Recover is ultimately about changing attitudes and beliefs within our dominant Western culture that contribute to colonialism, and that keep people from fully participating in our communities. And to change our culture, we need new and unusual allies, brave and committed supporters, and we need to think in deeply-rooted and interconnected ways. Learning how to do this work in concert with others in our communities is fundamental to our purpose.
